I need some computer experts because I want to polish my laptop and my 2TB external WD hard drive. And I would like for all media such as: pictures, documents, music, videos, possibly also a lot of exe. Divide (installer files) into many different areas / categories / folders. However, I'm puzzled by how I could do all of this. Unfortunately I don't have the creativity to find names for folders etc.
Do you have any ideas for that?
I would be very grateful to you!
Maybe it helps if you do everything once on a USB stick or if the memory does not fit first, e.g. All videos on the stick and so save the videos
Videos ---> family or another category ----> if you maybe have a lot of the family then divide the celebrations and divide the games for games C
Hi! Since you always have to think in the direction of a simple and functional data backup, your concept should allow a division of the data, e.g. To be able to secure individual categories or to be able to distribute it over several disks.
I solved it like this:
My data = my data area. Below there are main folders that name the "data type":
Music (there divided by genre, e.g. Metal, pop, rock… Etc. -> then underneath by artist)
Movies -> (there divided by genre, e.g. Comedy, action, … -> then the films below)
Data -> (divided there e.g. According to tax, eBay, correspondence…)
Pictures -> (there subdivision according to vacation, car, etc.)
Tools -> there divided according to programs, e.g. Office (libreoffice.), Audio (Audacity, Mp3Ripper), video-photo (e.g. Image processing), system… There are installation files for software from the Internet
So I can either make a complete backup or just sub-areas.
I save on several external disks and because the main areas are separate, there are synchro programs with which one can automatically compare the data and complete the backup.
That as an idea. Greeting
