Microsoft surface laptop go too slow with 4gb?

I urgently need to get a laptop / notebook for school. I'm very interested in the new Microsoft surface laptop go. I would only use it for typical school things, such as research, Microsoft Teams (video conference), Outlook, OneNote, Word, Excel and of course Powerpoint. So I wanted to ask if the 4gb variant (tends more towards the 4gb variant, since this is cheaper) is slower than the 8gb and 16gb variant? Do you think 4GB is enough and does the laptop slow down even with such work? Can't I just use a USB stick to pull everything that I don't absolutely need on the laptop, such as documents, presentations and the like?

I would prefer 8 GB. With a stick as an external storage medium, I would be careful because an external HDD / SSD is more suitable.

Of course it's much slower than 8 and 16 gb ram. The processor is also important. All of this will of course be sufficient for school. But you will not be satisfied with it. I'm in exactly the same situation and have dealt with the topic intensively for a long time. My school is designed for notebooks, but it is possible to use an Android tablet. That's why I came to the decision about UniDays (a platform that gives you discounts as a student), which forwarded me to Samsung and bought the Tab s7 for a total of 580 euro. I also got the case and the keyboard free of charge, so in the end I saved 250 euro through UniDays. My recommendation (I don't know whether the keyboard is still there was just an action) But otherwise you can get much cheaper notebooks that are better than the Surface Go 2 via Unidays. Only the size and the touch function are special there. If you don't need a touch, I would advise against it.

I would rather prefer SSD because everything starts faster and is important for school. Your device boots up quickly, your writing program starts quickly and opens your documents quickly

The optimal and cheapest combination is as follows:

(Not to gamble for school)

128GB SSD

4-8GB Ram

i5 processor or Ryzen 5
