What should I watch out for if I want to use speakers with a receiver & mixer?

I would like to "put together a system" for parties that can take place again at some point.
I still have older Denon front speakers with good oomph and a mixer (Stage Line MMX-1202). I would like to connect this to a receiver with which the speakers are connected and to the mixer, cell phone and / or laptop should be connected.

(I still have to buy the receiver, I wanted to get an older one from Ebay, as this is not about home theater quality)

My question:

What do I have to pay attention to when I put all these things together?

Somehow that the receiver & mixer don't have power amplifiers or something?

Is it even possible that I tie it together like that?

What can the reveicer have and what not?

(I wanted to use the mixer to insert 2 channels and to "fade" the music (transitions))

I would be happy to receive constructive answers and solutions.

Before you plug in the cables, you have to turn down the volume on all devices.

I would simply recommend two active PA speakers. Then you are really loud and have no further problems. If you want to mix music I would rather use a DJ program on your notebook.

Here you can look for a wide variety of active PA boxes.

In general, I would advise you to use a stereo integrated amplifier for the purpose, because you get more boom for the money. You only need two channels like that.

The input ohms of your speakers should match the output ohms of your amplifier (receiver). If no one is fiddling with the system, it is better to take the amplifier's power higher than the speakers' rated capacity. That reduces the noise. Do not use cheap cables!

I know about the impedance. And I have cables from Oehlbach, mostly 2.5mm or 4mm.

And thanks for your answer

I know that, thank you 😄

Yes, I thought about it, but I wanted to do it with the things I have and not buy new ones. Had already looked at Thomann or Teufel.
