Lan cable on the PC 12Mbits - WLAN per stick 35Mbits?

The LAN interface on my cousin's PC no longer works… Probably a technical defect. Now he has bought a Lan USB adapter to which the Lan goes.

But it only gets 12 Mbit and via Wi-Fi USB stick it gets 35 Mbit.

A full 35Mbits arrive on a laptop without a USB adapter. I also think via a USB adapter.

So it's up to the PC.

What can I do to find the bug?

Ja

What is the standard of the LAN adapter or what is the maximum data transfer rate? (10.100 or 1000Mbit / s)

Ja

My guess is that the LAN adapter is a 100Mbit / s standard and the WLAN stick is an N standard with 350Mbit / s.

If it should be this adapter then it also manages 1000Mbit / s and should be faster than the WLAN stick. What kind of USB port is it running on 2.0 or 3.0?

Have the recommended drivers been installed?

What is in the properties of the adapter and at what speed does it work?

To find out, please go (for Windows 10) Settings → Network & Internet → Status → Properties → and scroll down to the properties. There's then the connection speed.

I will try later. Thank you. He doesn't need a driver according to the instructions -> Win10; D

Ja

Yes, you need that with the driver or you don't need it… It only takes what Windows makes available. Unfortunately, that's not always the best. But just get in touch later. Let's get the problem under control.

12 Mbit / s… Could be if the stick is only connected via USB 1.0.

Are the chipset drivers of the mainboard installed on the PC?
Because if these are missing, the USB ports often only run on USB 1.0, which limits the USB bandwidth to 12 Mbit / s.

Thank you. I'll drive by myself today and look for it
