I would get a surface or ipad with a keyboard. Because they are just a lot more practical. And a laptop simply no longer has a reason to buy. The performance of an ipad pros is almost utopian for university purposes.

As already mentioned, it always depends. If you study at a university that likes to work a lot with the Office packet, then you should use a Windows-compatible laptop, as Apple is compatible with Office, but it is basically the same as using it in the browser. Apple is still on strike as to what it will look like in the future, but nobody knows yet. They are working to improve it, but it will never be the same. However, if you study something in biology, for example, then an Ipad would be preferable, as a mind map or something similar can be created much faster. Also related to housework, do you only work with the device on the go or as a complete "replacement"? The typing experience is almost the same, although you notice a difference between an Apple Magic keyboard and a laptop keyboard. A big disadvantage, because unfortunately I always do I still regret that Apple does not provide any function keys on both keyboards. Personally, I'm currently doing my Abitur and an apprenticeship at the same time. That is why I asked myself what I should buy now or what I get the bigger one from ". In the end I got stuck on the Ipad because I have to write a lot of notes during my training and have to create a lot of mind maps. In class it makes no difference whether I write on the laptop or on a tablet. The Ipad only serves as a supplement for me. But the fact is that with an additional addition an Ipad would be the smarter choice, with a complete addition I would always use a laptop, because the price-performance level is simply better. An Ipad will not be able to complement the functions of a laptop. The Ipad was never intended for that.
Conclusion: If you work with the device mainly on the go and do not need Office, but you are satisfied with your own Apple programs, then definitely use the Apple product. If you don't just work at home with it, a laptop is a better choice. More functions, more computing power, etc. A laptop would be enough for 600 euro.
