My brother would like to connect his laptop to the monitor via USB C but when he connects it nothing happens, the laptop does not recognize it, he did it with a USB C to HDMI adapter, who can help me.

Sp

You are likely to need an HDMI / DVI / VGA etc. Cable if you want to connect a computer to a screen.

Gu

Don't you have an hdmi cable on the monitor?

Th

But he would like to connect 2 monitors and his laptop only has one HDMI connection

ca

Nonsense. Of course, USB-C can transfer images. Please do not spread false information…

Co

Quite right! The iPad Pro only has usb c and can connect it to my tv via hdmi dongle with even a mouse and keyboard

Fo

But does not mean that it also supports the device.

Co

Right. With a laptop I think that should be the case

Ga

There are several types of USB-C.

Some support video output via it (with or without a dongle does not matter) some do not.

Me

"Nineteen-eighty-four". Or what are we talking about?
Or?

Th

How do I know what kind I have

Ga

Read the manual or google it.

It should be found somewhere under Connections.

Th

Because it says that it could be deactivated, that means you can activate it again

Gu

Then get a hdmi splitter, I think that should help but kp, via usb c I don't think it works

Ar

If he has already tried this with a USB-C → HDMI adapter… Then the USB port can't use the corresponding alternate mode.

You have a little explanation of the whole mess here:
