Control on the PC works, but then again not?

My laptop recognizes my controller, but when I'm in the game (Dead by Daylight), I can do everything, i.e. In the menu ect. But when I want to play, it suddenly stops working and I have to play with the keyboard. Why is that? (I was able to connect Windows 10 and my controller with my laptop using the SCP tool driver). Sometimes it works, sometimes not.

My Opinion: It may be that your PC does not support your controller in some games, only at the beginning but not at the end
