I bought a new laptop a few days ago. Today the microphone suddenly stopped working. Last week it was still working, I haven't changed any of the settings. I got the following error code: error 0xa00f429c microphone not available (0xc00dabe0)
Got win 10 home. The microphone can no longer be found in the settings, as if I hadn't installed one anymore.
Update you sound drivers
First, how do I do it, and second, they don't have to be up to date if I've only had the PC for 2 weeks?
Try to remove or uninstall the microphone driver in the device manager. Then reconnect your microphone so that the driver is reinstalled. That could help.
It's not about an external microphone, but about the built-in.
Windows update also likes to destroy drivers. Go to the manufacturer of your laptop, download the sound driver and then start if necessary.
Look in the device manager,
Audio inputs and outputs,
look for the microphone,
Right click and open properties.
Do you find an error message? Please copy the entries to be found under events and post them here.
Right click on the speaker symbol in the lower right corner of the system tray
Open sound settings
What do you find below input? Which input device is selected?
If your microphone is not selected here, just correct it, it should be in the list of input devices.
If necessary, uninstall the driver and restart the computer, the driver will be reinstalled.
