Windows 10 microphone doesn't work, but somehow it does?

I'm currently struggling a bit with my Lenovo Ideapad C320. The laptop is only a year old and I'm currently having problems with the microphone. The device runs on Windows 10 and the microphone is called "Microphone Array (Synaptics Audio)". For the online semester, the laptop is very important to me. A few months ago the problem arose that the microphone does not work on Zoom / Skype / the laptop itself or the Cortana function. When I go to the settings, the bar under test microphone flashes, so it recognizes that my voice doesn't work with other things, for example not when I want to dictate things. When I click Troubleshoot, it says, "The troubleshooter could not identify the problem."

I'm really desperate. Does anyone know what's going on and how can I fix it?

Please go to the device manager and see if the microphone has been recognized properly. If it is recognized and marked with an exclamation mark, then uninstall it. Then you shut down the computer and restart it.

Plug the microphone back in and it should then be re-recognized. If the errors recur, then I would suggest buying a new one. They don't cost the world anymore.

Thank you for your answer. I went to the equipment manager and there was no exclamation mark. It says that the device works perfectly. Should I deactivate the device? Or uninstall from the system?

No, I wouldn't do that at first. Try a new microphone and make sure that it is compatible with your operating system when purchasing.

But it's an internal microphone
