CPU suddenly idling to almost 100%?

Why is it that the CPU of my HP laptop is suddenly constantly at 100% idle?

Despite restarting Windoof several times nothing changes! In short: It started that I wanted to run my Kaspersky virus protection to scan the laptop for viruses! Suddenly virus protection got stuck with the message "No feedback" and that's where the monkey circus started!

I restarted Windoof for the first time and the idle process was almost 100%, so the laptop almost never reacted to anything!

In the meantime he doesn't even open Firefox anymore! And if he opens it up, the pages load forever and YouTube can be completely forgotten!

As I said: Why is it that the idle process is continuously at 100%? Because that just can't be normal!

On my Lenovo PC, from which I'm currently writing, the CPU utilization is now 4-6%!

For info:

2.8 GHz CPU

3 GB RAM

300 GB HDD

Maybe your CPU is getting too hot.

Install Hhomework Info 64 and check the temperature.

However, this does not mean that the thermal paste has to be exchanged, it may also be that the air supply to the fan is closed.

To do this, you have to take the notebook apart.

OK. But as I already noted in the question, the monkey circus only started after I started the Kaspersky and did a quick scan! Everything was okay before!

Cy

Kaspersky has nothing to do with it.

I also have Kaspersky Total Security on my PC and I don't have the problem.

Te

OK. But as I said, the laptop ran completely without problems beforehand! Will reinstall the windoof for simplicity if the system restore does not help!

Cy

Before you reinstall Windows, I would uninstall Kaspersky first if you suspect that it is because you haven't done it yet. I can't imagine, but maybe something went wrong during the installation of Kaspersky to delete.

Enter Regedit in the search field and press Enter.

Then delete on HKey_Local_Machine and then on software and the folder Kaspersky and restart the notebook.

If nothing changed then it was not Kaspersky and would then reinstall Windows. Check the temperature of your CPU in the BIOS beforehand. If it is idle between 30 and 40 ° C, everything is ok.

Te

Thank you. I checked the temperature of the laptop CPU and it was 35 °! And then try to uninstall the virus protection and I'm curious to see what the tow top means.
