Laptop does not recognize DVD drives, what to do?

My laptop (Lenovo ThinkPad T540p) does not recognize any drives / CDs / DVDs. It actually has a built-in drive. When I tried to use this recently, my device did not show anything to me. At first I thought it was the drive, but today I connected an external one. Same problem again. The device was not recognized.

In the system settings under Devices it says that the drive (installed) is working properly.

I don't know what to do next and would be very happy to receive help / tips!
