MacBook Air 13 2019 increase performance?

I got Cities Skylines for the MacBook Aor 13 2019. I know it's not a gaming laptop, but I thought it could at least make games like Cities Skylines. Well, it also works fine on low graphics. But as soon as I set it higher, it just stutters.

Are there general ways to increase the performance of the MacBook or other tricks and tips?

As far as I know, the air series had a problem with the temperatures and therefore switches itself weaker, but even if you were to overclock it, the battery would probably not make it

If you haven't already done so, you should lower the resolution of the game. 1680x1050 is a resolution that lowers the requirement enough and still looks sufficiently sharp. A native resolution of 2560x1600 is not absolutely necessary for 13 inches.

With the lower resolution you could raise the graphic details a bit, or play with a few more frames per second.
