What properties does my dream device need (yes or no for Smart TV)?

I want to buy a new television - no, actually no television, because I can't (and does not want to) receive linear television. I actually need a device that works like my laptop, but with a large monitor and no keyboard.

I want to watch You-Tube, all available media libraries - use the entire Internet. And I would like to do that with an operating system that can be updated and does not, as is now the case with my LG Smart TV, exclude various offers (for example YouTube). I want a remote control that children can use and a monitor that the entire family can use.

My Cromecast (Miracast) via the smartphone is not enough for me, not least because I don't like the format. The connection of my laptop via HDMI cable is also unsatisfactory because it is totally impractical.

I don't know what to look for now. Yet another smart TV? Or is linear television always in the foreground and the device is optimized for it?

There should be a lot of people who have an "on demand" TV behavior like me… Technically I'm not very affine, so the option "Connect Rasberry" to the existing Smart TV would probably be too complex for me. I'm open to ideas.

What should i buy

I thank you in advance!

Buying a TV only for media libraries would be an absolute waste of money.

Possibilities would be:

As mentioned earlier, Raspberry (would be the cheapest and most versatile solution)
Depending on which smartphone you have - there's the DeX station for Samsung flagships
All-in-one PC
Mini PC, which is only operated on TV
Tablet

My Cromecast (Miracast) via the smartphone is not enough for me, not least because I don't like the format

What do you mean by "format"? The format is 16: 9 - like the television picture. What do you not like about it?

Thank you! I'll take a closer look at the suggestions!

I suspected Rasberry as the optimal solution, but unfortunately I have no idea about it…

"What do you mean by" format "here? The format is 16: 9 - like the television picture. What you don't like about it gdnau?"

My Miracast mirrors my smartphone onto the TV - in landscape or portrait format. At the same time, I can't use the cell phone, which immediately cuts the connection. In addition, the family can't use it to operate the TV because it hangs on my cell phone (the children don't have a cell phone, but they do stream movies). That would certainly be the case with the other options (Rasberry), PC.

My Smart TV is from LG. Stone old and slow. Before I can watch a movie on Prime, it takes 5 minutes. Internet (media library) is no longer possible.

Read yourself in here:

All you have to do is insert Raspberry into the housing, connect the cables, install the correct operating system on the memory card and insert the memory card - actually very easy, even without knowing about Rasp.
