I have a question. I organize an event in the forest for a few children. The motto is "special unit". There the children will "learn" how to do different things. My idea was to "show them" how to turn off lights with the laptop. It's all show, of course. And I can't really do that either. Do you have any idea how to fake things like that? I think I was wrong. I'm in an association where kids can do cool stuff in the woods, like making fires, tents, etc. It's not that the kids should understand how it works, it's about having the kids have a cool cause and make their leisure time cool. It's about fighting against "bad guys" (colleagues of mine) and putting them to flight.
It's all show, and this pleases the kids and they love to come back to the club.

Yeah sure, but it could be that you could somehow connect a battery cord with a cable and at the end of the cable it has a button.
Lamps in the forest? In our forest there's no 230V connection, should be the camping lights or such LED battery parts? You will not be able to control those. Since you would need smart lamps, but usually synonymous need proper power.
I only know Philips Hue Go but I do not know if it can be controlled in the forest without a hub.

If it is not supposed to be in the woods, there are radio controlled outlets. You could control it (even indirectly) from the PC, but that's not so simple.
