Printer: install drivers without CD-ROM?

Hello to all (hopefully) tech-savvy ^^

I'm trying to install a printer on my laptop against all reason alone. Normally the printer is not displayed to me, so I thought I'll install the driver. (I think that will help, right?)

So I got the ZIP file from the manufacturer page. However, the README file requires me to use the CD-ROM for installation. Of course, I do not think so and I honestly do not understand what the meaning behind it is that I can get the driver from the Internet if I then need the CD.

Can someone possibly free me from my misery? The likelihood that I still find the CD here goes to zero.

Ever thank you in advance.

Is the zip file only from the readme, or is there also a setup there? Already tried to start this?

There's also a setup file. I was just scared to try anything contrary to the instructions. I can give it a try.

It is always best to take the drivers from the manufacturer on the website. They are mostly up-to-date like on the CD. My printer Epson workforce wf-2530 I already have a few years and has already some updates and firmware update behind.
