Play recorded movies on hard drive?

I have connected an external hard drive to the TV for recording!

I just have a problem - I can't make it visible or edit it on my laptop? Who can help me there?

Unfortunately, this is often the case. Some devices use a file system that is not directly readable with a Windows PC or encrypt the recordings.

In order to possibly be able to help, you would have to add the question of which TV it is exactly (manufacturer, model).

This is because your operating system does not know the file system.

Was the same with the TV of a friend of mine who formatted the disks in Ext4, then it was up to me to open the thing under Linux.

This is by design, since the recordings have not been released for further use by the rights holder of the film.

You have to check beforehand whether it is pre-formatted in FAT32 or NTFS and then what your TV recognizes. Just put it in and take it is not. May be that the TV wrote "into nothing" or nothing happened.

I had to format NTFS or the TV would not recognize the hard drive.

The recording runs under a BIN file, it just does not work on Windows and can't be played! There are also a CFG / PVR and RFI file specified (but I don't know what that should be)
