I wanted to install Windows XP on my 2008 laptop, but the setup always breaks off with a blue screen. In forums people write that it could be related to the then new SATA. Can jeamand help me install XP?
And how do you imagine that?
The only basis is the statement that it doesn't work. And you hardly feel like puzzling around. And chewing everything through little by little, even fewer people.
I can't even give you an approach because I can spontaneously come up with umpteen scenarios as to why it might be.
Ideally, use a Windows XP installation CD where Service Pack 3 is already included. It also brings extended S-ATA support.
Then set the sata mode to ide in the bios
My Medion XP PC from 2006 only had SATA drives.
There were no problems when restarting with the supplied WinXP-SP2 installation CD.
What exactly is reported with the blue screen?
