I just have to decide whether to buy a PC or a laptop. I mainly need it for school. The laptop is just more practical, but the PC is nicer and more powerful. Price would be the same for both.
Since you definitely have "gaming" on your list. Pc.
For the same price, you get a lot more PC performance. On top of that, the performance is limited even with expensive laptops and can't match the (sometimes half as expensive) PCs.

Most cases for PCs are ATX cases, which are square and elongated. So no squares.
Stx or Micro STX are often very small square boxes. This is only the corresponding standard for the housing sizes or which motherboards fit into a housing.
