Which hard drive should I buy?

I'm looking for a new hard drive because my old one and all the data has given up the ghost. I need this mainly as memory for pictures from my mobile phone, as well as file storage. Additionally as data backup for mobile phone & laptop. Which hard drive can you recommend to me? Should I buy 2 hard drives directly so that I can always back up all data on the second?

For that I would indulge me ne 1tb HDD. The second is solely your decision. Where I would like to have a backup for old Familienfotus.

I'm sorry, but with this information it will not be easy to answer the question properly…
What is your budget? Vlt memory size etc
Just a little info

Since I have already lost all data on my last hard drive. I would like to play it safe now. Do you have certain manufacturers, etc. Which you prefer?

Budget does not play that role right now. I thought so until 100 euro? Memory size 1 TB

I've been using Seagate for 4 years now.

but if the data is very important to you, you can just do a Raid 1, taking as much as possible two different hard drives

How much memory do you need?

A backup hard drive of the most important / favorite data is definitely useful. Or a backup to DVD / Bluray, if you want to archive and the data is not constantly changing. I do everything now and then. As a backup hard drive to my 2 TB HDD I have since last year, this external 1 TB https://www.amazon.de/...B07997KKSK Usually plugged on the shelf and waiting for their use.

Now go first from 1 TB.

I could use the Toshiba but synonymous as a "normal" hard drive, right?

The most secure backup (for the home user) is on 2 memories, both of which are not permanently connected to the PC and are used alternately. And not stored in the same place.

Thus, the backup is retained, even if 1 memory is lost, fails, is destroyed by water / fire, or is encrypted by a ransomware Trojan.

You can use two USB drives, and always store one with parents or friends. Or you use 1 USB drive and you make a second backup in the cloud, e.g. Onedrive or Dropbox.

Type of disk for backup should be hard disks.

As a system drive, if possible also for all programs, always use an SSD. They are 10x faster, insensitive to impacts like falling, and absolutely silent.

Using built-in disks as a backup is quite uncertain.
