Are the resorts in Playa del Carmen all burglar-proof or theft-proof?

So if you leave a laptop or expensive branded clothing in the room.

Especially when you land on the ground floor

I don't think so, as the cleaning crews wander through. If you need a laptop on vacation, your smart phone will do everything! And keep the expensive branded clothes to a minimum and choose older ones. Insurance wouldn't be bad. Some have safes in the room, but the size I could put it under my arm and take it with me. But my experiences are about 20 years old, newer houses could be better equipped? The shopping centers were bad, you were only harassed to buy some kind of junk.

It's about 5 star resort hotels

Usually, the resorts are "sealed off" areas that you can only enter as a guest or employee. This happens a lot outside of the resorts, but I got to know it so much that the resort owners are very careful that you as a guest do not notice it. But you should lock the apartment anyway, there are ostrich-like birds that like to turn the doorknobs 😂

There was already a safe in the hotel for valuables. And we always tried not to get downstairs.

In principle, all of this is safe. But you never know who will come in. Especially since these cleaning ladies, technicians… Can't be completely trusted. Valuables always belong in the safe. I usually have a lockable hard case. I've never heard of clothes being stolen.
