It makes a difference for the battery life in the long term, whether I constantly attached the laptop or let the battery run to the end idle. Is there a way to keep the battery life longer for longer?
Have my Lenovo notebook already 5 years to 99% on the net. Result: Battery has only held for 30 minutes instead of 2.5 hours. But after 5 years, I like to treat myself to a new battery.
Yes, there's a method: The battery is not necessarily over 80% charge and not necessarily under 20% discharged. In any case, do not keep the battery with 100% charge level, so let it fully charged on the stream.
And then store in a cool and dry place.
As already written best not over 80% and under 20% come.
But honestly, a notebook is a commodity. Mine is now around 8 years old, from the former 5-6 hours battery, the battery now lasts 2 hours. I have the notebook to 90% always on the power supply to 100%. And after 8 years, 2 hours are still a very good value for me, since every current smartphone can make a difference.
Thanks a lot… Wow after 8 years still 2 hours of battery life, that's pretty good. May one ask what kind of laptop or battery do you own?
No problem. Yeah, it's a Samsung RV520 (it will be exactly 8 years in May). An i5 2410m is used, RAM is upgraded to 8 GB and the 320 GB HDD is still running. Is almost the same as the one here only without graphics card:

I paid 479 euro back then.
