How can I connect my microphone to my laptop?

Like most of us, I've found that the internal microphone on my laptop is not really useful, so I ordered an external one. Now it is there but I can't "activate" it. I've already done a lot of research and nothing has helped me yet. I have already: used an adapter, looked in the system settings, opened the control panel, tried to update the sound driver, restarted the laptop several times and what else can be found. However, none of this helped me. In the settings and the control panel, the microphone was not even mentioned. The microphone has a 3.5 jack plug.

Can someone please tell me what to do?

If your microphone has a USB port, you can simply connect it to the USB port on your laptop. If your laptop has a headphone jack and microphone jack, you can just plug in your microphone.

The microphone has just a jack and the laptop has a connection headphones and microphone at the same time it is not so

Ma

And connect to the connection does not bring it?

How do you know that the microphone is not activated?
How did you try to activate the microphone?

Suggestion: Connect your microphone to the laptop and go into Control Panel> Sound> Recording.
If your external microphone is not listed there, right-click in this window and activate "Show disabled devices">
Right click on the external microphone> Activate> set this microphone to "Default".

With Win10, it should also be noted that the desired applications must be enabled in Settings> Privacy> Microphone. - See picture example:

Which microphone is this actually?
