I'm just at work and my laptop is not charging after a few minutes he started smoking. I've just taken it from the network but can't remove the battery since it is firmly installed. Can something bad happen now or can I calm down first?
If you're at work, then you can say that to your boss.
He should then forward this to the IT department and they will look at it.
You'll probably get a replacement for the first time so you can keep working.

Does your boss agree that you connect your private laptop in the company, or does he know nothing about it?
Get him somewhere where he can't start a fire, e.g. Put it in a metal bucket or tin box and go to a specialist before it starts to burn. He can remove and replace the defective battery and your data is saved.
