What to do if an action is not performed on Windows?

Yesterday I reset my laptop because I had a suspicion that I have a virus on it. When I wanted to download everything again today I noticed that when I press the right mouse button on the desktop it loads all the time but nothing happens and after a while it just stops. After I restarted I did not go too. Then I reset it again and it still can't be done.

Instead of resetting, it's better to reinstall Windows cleanly. To do this, download the Media Creation Tool from the Microsoft page. This can create a Windows 10 USB bootstick. The stick must be formatted before creating.

Then boot the created stick and follow the instructions of the installer. It offers the possibility to completely delete the hard disk / SSD. You do not have to enter the product key, it is permanently integrated in the UEFI / BIOS.

When the installation is complete, just log back in with the Microsoft account. Windows will be activated again automatically. Then you go to the manufacturer side of the laptop. There download and install the drivers.

Now it would have to run again without problems.

As virus protection of Windows 10 existing Defender is sufficient. For emergencies, I would recommend creating a Kaspersky Rescue Bootstick. It works like this:

It works like this:

Install this tool: https://www.balena.io/...io/etcher/ This is called balenaEtcher, so you can create bootable sticks.
Download Kaspersky Rescue Disk ISO: https://support.kaspersky.com/de/viruses/krd2018

Insert a blank formatted USB stick.
start balenaEtcher. Then open the Kaspersky Rescue Disk ISO at Select Image, select the stick at Select Drive and click on Flash.
When the stick is finished, just boot this stick and scan the system.

How exactly did you reset Windows? If you made it directly through Windows, he probably did not do it all over. So it could be that it really helps to throw Windows down COMPLETELY and reinstall it completely.
