Transfer pictures from Canon camera?

I've had a Canon EOS 1000D for about 2 years now and so far I've always transferred the pictures to my laptop and then transferred them from my laptop to my iPhone via iTunes. However, I don't have a laptop right now, but I still have photos on my camera that I want to transfer to my iPhone. Does anyone know whether this works without a laptop and if so, how?

If the camera has bluetooth, maybe. Otherwise not.

Is there a Canon app? With Nikon, it's pretty easy to do through the app.

Otherwise there are adapters, SD card adapters, which you attach at the bottom, insert the SD card of the camera and then have access to the pictures (at least with Android).

I'm going to look for an app.

Your camera was launched in 2008 and does not support wireless technologies such as WLAN or Bluetooth.

Only the variants via USB cable or via the SD card remain.

You can also connect data carriers such as SD cards or cameras to iPhones and access the data. I don't know how it works exactly with what restrictions. I do not use any Apple products and therefore have no insight into their ecosystem.

A suitable Lightning to USB-A adapter or an SD card reader with a Lightning connector is required.

I do something similar all the time, plugging the SD card into the card reader and the USB cable into my cell phone. You can see the pictures in an app called Files or something.
