Can you do, but I would format it, and a 3.5 inch housing for 7 euro doesn't hurt either.

It probably won't run with the old Windows installation, but if you format it and reinstall Windows, it should work if it isn't broken.
So you can install it neatly if your PC doesn't have a 2.5 "compartment. So it doesn't have to be a housing. It is more an adapter so that you can install the SSD in a 3.5" compartment. I think. But you don't necessarily need it if 80% is enough for you 😉
