After switching to WIN10 I'm looking for a free DVD player for my laptop. What is recommended there or what are your experiences?

Do you have a free dvd player in the device or do you not have a drive? VLC Player is a good software or the in-house Win Media Player

For software definitely VLC player. It's free and will stay that way.

Any USB drive or the internal one in the PC as hardware.
