Following situation:
I have lectures at the university about Zoom and would like to take my laptop in the garden when it's warm or nice weather. Unfortunately, I don't have Wi-Fi in the garden. I don't want to use my mobile data from my cell phone.
Maybe someone knows a portable Wi-Fi that is fast enough for Zoom lectures?
Cell phone hotspot?
Mobile hotspot on your smartphone.
I don't want to mess up my mobile data for class
If your smartphone supports 4G and you have a good data plan, you can use the mobile hotspot in your mobile phone.
I always go on vacation when there's no Wi-Fi in the apartment.
The first question, of course, is how far the Wi-Fi is from the garden. If the garden in front of the house has Wi-Fi, a repeater or an additional access point is the best option.
A repeater has the advantage that it is easier to install because it connects to the hotspot / router and the end device via WLAN.
For an additional access point you have to lay a cable, which is more complex, but gives better results. In addition, you can get ahead with a LAN cable.
If you don't have Wi-Fi / Internet nearby, you only have a mobile hotspot. This also works with many cell phones. The problem here is of course the data tariff.
You confuse Wi-Fi with Internet, your laptop is already a portable Wi-Fi device, what you need is a repeater to extend the Wi-Fi from your house to the garden so that you can then use your internet connection at home via Wi-Fi.
