Blown laptop chip / resistor (MSI GF65)?

Can someone explain to me what happened here? I turned on my laptop and suddenly it smelled like burnt plastic and now it doesn't work anymore.

Can't say so directly. It could be on water or other conductive material like screws, liquid metal, … But it could also be that the component just got fed up with it. I don't know whether it will be enough to replace the component. For that I would have to have a bigger picture. If the component belongs to the CPU power supply, that is very likely.

How could i send you a better picture? The thing is that I've already packed it to send it back and don't want to wiggle around much anymore.

If you still have a guarantee, it doesn't matter anyway. Then send it back and you're done. They should replace the laptop. Your data will all be gone. If you still need it, you should remove the hard drive and install it in another laptop or PC.
