I would like to connect a radio microphone set more precisely the T-bone DS16R to my laptop via the 3.5mm jack plug.
The receiver has an audio output via XLR and 6.3 mm jack. I tried to connect to my laptop via the 6.3 mm connector using a 6.3 mm to 3.5 mm cable. Unfortunately, it is not accepted as a microphone.
Am I doing something wrong? Do I have to consider anything else? If you could help me it would be great.
I think you need some adapter cables
At the laptop signal for microphone and audio split 3.5 jack

and XLR to 3.5 jack
Does your laptop have such a microphone / headphone combo port (4-pin 3.5mm jack)
This is usually known from cellphone headsets
for this you need an adapter which splits the combiport
Thanks for your quick reply!
That's right, I have a combi port. I'm going to try the Y cable. But basically it should work with a 6.3 to 3.5 jack plug, right? Or do I need an XLR cable?
Did a little research on the internet: I don't need an extra mixer, do I?
The jack cable should work the same way and a mixer is not necessary.
