I wanted to download the Sims 4. Now I have but read the following info:

Does that mean now 1. That if I can download the game now on my laptop, the game on a possibly new laptop or PC can't play?
and 2. What does mean that the serial number is only valid for the duration of the online features? Is this a demo?

no as long as you have originals and you then act as the serial number there
download origin and activate key and then download the game
