Since there are only integrated graphics chips from Intel, i.e. Built into the CPU itself,
that are far too weak for the usual games, it may well be because of it.
For Sims 3 you need a graphics card with:
128 MB Video Card with support for Pixel Shader 2.0

If you have Pixel Shader 2.0, you should have a look at the Intel page. But you won't really have much fun with it, even if it should work.

Unfortunately, this is not possible with a laptop. Laptops with a discrete (i.e. Separate) graphics unit, for example from Nvidia or AMD, have to be bought from the outset with the desired gaming performance.
