Docking station - read out data?

I got a docking station to copy the hard drive from an older laptop Win 7 to another with Win 10 or to work with the external hard drive.

Since I'm a little older and don't understand very much about it, I need help with this.

I did the following:

Docking station (WAVLINK ST-335A without driver) connected to laptop via USB cable

external hard drive plugged in

Device was recognized

how do you have to proceed to read out the data?

With Ubuntu Life and gparted you can read out and copy

I suppose it's about your own files, etc.

You can find them on the hard drive under / users / **** / pictures e.g. Your own pictures

You then simply need to copy the folder accordingly, e.g. On a usb stick and then on the new computer or directly on the new computer.
