I'm currently looking for a laptop or tablet that can be used well for creating 3D models for a 3D printer. It shouldn't be too big because I want to take it with me to my work and I don't have a lot of space for it at my workplace.
There are devices that I have already looked at, such as the "Microsoft surface Pro 7". Would the version with the "Intel Core i7, 16 GB, 256 GB for 1,349.00 euro" be enough?
The second question would be which CAD program would you then use for this. Or which one is inexpensive.
I have experience with vectorworks. Only then does the license cost me too much.
So the convertible you have chosen is basically not bad. I would recommend Fusion 360 or Autodesk Inventor as a program for CAD. Depending on whether you use it commercially you have to purchase a license or you can use it for private use free of charge.
I get along well with Fusion 360 because you also have cloud storage.
However, you would have the best CAD experience with a desktop PC.
Thank you for the quick answer, I want to design 1/87 scale models and since I have 12 hour shifts at work and I prefer to do something with my girlfriend or family after work, I wanted to stop during construct the models in my shift.
I see.
But would it work with Microsoft surface pro 7 or is it too weak for that?
I'll look again

Okay many thanks for your information😊
This also works with Blender https://www.blender.org/...ender.org/. You can also create 3D models with it. There are also plugins for creating 3D print data.
Blender is free software and available for Windows, Mac, and Linux.
