USB ports on the monitor without function?

I completed a monitor with an HDMI-DVI adapter on the laptop. This works too.

The only thing that doesn't work yet is the USB ports on the monitor. I don't have enough on my laptop, so I would like to use them.

Do I still need another cable or why is it that they have no function yet?

You should get suitable cables in every computer store or electronics store. But was there no corresponding cable with the screen?

The usb ports on the monitor are just a kind of usb hub. I.e. On the back of the screen near the display and power connections there should be a USB-B connection. This is just as much a connection as e.g. On the printer or something more square.

SHOULD be the right one. One end goes to the pc, the other to the screen.
