The problem is with my Windows 7 laptop it always shows security certificate error so I want to know whether the page opens with you or not?

Windows 7 is open to viruses and so on like a barn door.
Nobody should go to the net with that

Jo

Many people still use Windows 7. However, this is very dangerous; there are very many viruses out there these days. Microsoft only provides updates for companies that pay. Not that long, of course, you can still use Windows 7, but then only offline. Too dangerous online.

When Windows 10 came out in 2015, I used the free upgrade.

You can still switch from Windows 7 to Windows 10 for free. The Windows 7 Product Key is also accepted when activating Windows 10.

You only have to first read out and note down the Windows 7 Product Key with this tool https://www.chip.de/...63752.html. Then create a Windows 10 USB stick with the Media Creation Tool and boot it. After the installation you should create a Microsoft account if you don't already have one. Then log into Windows 10 as a user.

Then go to activation and enter the Windows 7 product key there. The activation will then also be permanently saved in your Microsoft account.

If you have to reinstall Windows 10, simply log in again with your Microsoft account as a Windows 10 user. Then it will be reactivated automatically. You don't have to enter the key anymore.

I haven't used Windows 7 for a long time. You shouldn't do that either. There have been no more security updates since January 2020, which puts you at risk if you continue to use Windows 7, as you are no longer protected against current threats. You are not forced to get a new operating system, but it would be advisable. At least when you are on the Internet.

If your device is not very old and runs Windows 7 without any problems in terms of performance, then there should be no problems with Windows 10 either. RAM should be installed at least 4 GB. Incidentally, an SSD is also an advantage for a significant increase in speed.

You can upgrade to Windows 10 for free by upgrading. The free upgrade has officially been discontinued, but as far as I know it still works with a Windows 7 or Windows 8.1 license.

Everything is also automated. In the end, you usually still have all of your data. You should still save your important files on a USB stick or an external hard drive beforehand. Something can always go wrong with an upgrade like this.

Microsoft's Media Creation Tool is available for the upgrade: https://www.microsoft.com/.../windows10

After downloading and opening the program, there's an option to upgrade. Then just follow all the steps here.

As far as Windows 10 is concerned, the operating system is, of course, more secure than Windows 7 due to the updates available, but also more powerful. Some people may see the Windows 10 data protection thing negatively. However, you also have the option of deactivating various functions in this regard if necessary. This can be done quickly and easily, for example using O&O ShutUp10: https://www.oo-software.com/de/shutup10

Visually, you have to get used to Windows 10 if you switch from Windows 7 and have never used Windows 8 or Windows 8.1. In my opinion, the biggest changes are the new start menu and tiles. The tiles can be completely ignored, I don't use them at all. I have adapted the start menu so that it is structured like under Windows 7. This works with the free Classic Shell program: http://www.classicshell.net/

Otherwise you get used to Windows 10 quickly. If you have high security concerns, you could alternatively switch to Windows 8.1 first, because data protection is even better. Support there will continue for several years. Here you would have to buy a product key, but it is also available for little money.

Personally, I don't worry too much and, as mentioned above, would prefer to switch to Windows 10. And if you want to turn your back on Windows completely, be it because of security concerns or whatever, you have various Linux distributions as a further alternative that are very similar to Windows and are free.

As for your other question, Hotmail no longer exists. The url should redirect you to the following page: https://outlook.live.com/owa/

You can try visiting this page.

The security certificate can have various reasons. An anti-virus program could interfere due to some setting. Furthermore, such an error message can appear if the date and time of your system are not set correctly for whatever reason.

You already know that if you use Windows 7 you don't have to use the same browser. The current version of Google Chrome runs on the Windows 7 games box.

Today with Internet Explorer… I think the last version available for Windows 7 is Microsoft Internet Explorer 11 … To put it mildly, it is grossly negligent.

Internet Explorer 11 is now so ancient that I'm surprised if it still manages to display a normal website. No wonder that there are now pages that also criticize this.

You just have to use this tool first
https://www.chip.de/...63752.html first read out the Windows 7 product key

In the case of devices with Windows 7, as far as I know, there should normally always be a sticker with the product key on the device.

I only meant the tool if you can no longer read the key from the sticker when it is faded. That is often the case.

OK.
