Notebook / laptop for students?

I'm looking for a cheap laptop / notebook for the university.

It should be smaller than 15 inches for easy transport.

He should be able to surf fast and a writing program would have to work well.

If in doubt, you can again 4GB RAM and ne larger SSD retrofit, but for just surfing and writing is good.

Phew, that's very little for a reasonable 12 or 13 inch.
I would rather advise you to a used one.
