Moin people I installed linux mint on a laptop and when I restarted it, everything freezes when I log in! I can no longer move the mouse / no password, nothing!
I've already restarted but it remains so what should I do?
Install an operating system that works: Windows.
Windows is not always the most ideal when it comes to old hardware!
Did you get any errors during installation? Or have you installed something lately?
I just connected a keyboard and mouse then it worked but otherwise not what should I do?
Wrong: Windows is not the solution, Windows is the question. The answer is no!
Seems like Mint has a problem with your hardware. If an external keyboard and mouse work, then Mint can't handle the touchpad and the built-in keyboard. It's strange, but it just seems like that. Linux Mint is an offshoot of Debian. Debian is much more stable, but also always a bit "out of date", because the makers of Debian rely on tested, stable software. In addition, e.g. The integration of modules (drivers) under Debian is a bit "more demanding". Linux Mint is based on Debian, but is otherwise completely independent and actually completely "squashed". Linux Mint also gives me problems with the graphics card. That's why I use Kubuntu, Ubuntu with KDE Desktop, on my desktop PC and Debian with firmware on my servers. I would recommend you give (K) Ubuntu a try. In addition, Linux often has problems with relatively new hardware. The support from the manufacturers is unfortunately a bit neglected, so that the Linux community usually has to step in here. But it always takes some time before new hardware is implemented in Linux.
Ui. Then the keyboard and trackpad will not be recognized. See if you can find drivers for your laptop.
