My Odys notebook actually works flawlessly for over a year. Recently, there's a strange problem: Whenever I play a video (Youtube, Netflix, etc) and the charger is plugged in, the notebook hangs up in about 3 minutes. As soon as I remove the charging cable, I can easily watch videos… I can use everything else while the notebook is charging without a problem. But as soon as I play videos, the picture is stuck.
Do you have any advice or experience?
Ever tried to reinstall?
Honestly, I'm a technology rivet - I'll give it a try.
Sounds to me after overheating the hardware by the extra heat from the store. If you still have warranty I would exchange it. You yourself can't do much or nothing.
Since the whole thing depends specifically on the state of the energy supply, I first tap on the power management.
Unfortunately, I do not know what graphics card your laptop uses. (or does the hybrid graphics have 2 graphic cards?)
Try to experiment with the video settings in the power management. (since I do not have a laptop at hand I can't understand if there's still a network / battery specific setup)
in a hybrid system, it may well be that the video is reproduced at network on the second differently configured graphics card. But as I said I do not have your laptop on my workbench and can with so little info only oracles.
Maybe it's also a hardware thing…
If the cooler is dirty, the processor will be too warm.
This does not happen during battery operation, since the power management only runs the processor on a "low-flame" basis.
The dirt problem can be solved quite well with a vacuum cleaner. If necessary, alternately suck and blow strongly into the radiator outlet (better use compressed air spray!)
Lighter gas would also work, but can make a huge boom if something is working…
This with the battery video settings worked. The notebook does not have a cooler / never gets hot, but it was due to the settings.
