What broke this hard drive?

So my hard drive on the laptop gave up after half a year in operation, the laptop was provided by the company and the problem is, the hard drive is less than 6 months old… I have to rely on the laptop because of my apprenticeship or my job. So and we have installed a 1 terabyte SSD and now the question arises, why did the hard drive break after half a year?

Ka

Unfortunately, we do not live in this hard disk and can therefore not provide remote diagnostics. Probably a Monday hard drive.

That can happen from time to time. The hdd does not have to be six months old. Sometimes it has been a few years before it is sold or sold for installation.

In any case, I do not think that the laptop is responsible for it. Especially mechanically moving plates are increasingly stressed in movable devices such as laptops.

Who says the hard drive is broken?
what else does she do, loads something?

Da

It just loads and we made it yesterday, Windows 10 and then drivers overnight and quickly it started again with a black screen and a circle of loads.

Brand new hard drives fail much more often in the first weeks and months than later due to production errors. In addition, every mechanical and electrical load reduces the life of the hard drive. If you leave hard disks in continuous operation and do not expose them to unusual loads, they last the longest. No hard drive has given up on my mind for years. The last case of damage was a Samsung SSD 850, which was less than half a year old. My oldest PC disk, a WD2500JS, currently has 48,861 operating hours, which corresponds to around 11 years of operation when used 12 hours a day. It was switched on 22,401 times, which corresponds to 5-6 times a day for 11 years.

Two old Seagate disks, which are scrapped as fail-safe, are installed in the server with 63710 operating hours. That is more than 7 years in 24-hour operation.

Windows 10 comes with all drivers. Would install the latest version of Win 10 times and no additional drivers.
But take the latest Windows 10 version! Currently 1909
