Moin people,
I found an old IBM "ThinkPad" in the basement. My question would be what could I refresh everything on the laptop so that he (up to date) is. Currently Windows XP is on it. Does it make sense to buy Windows 10? Or is not that worth it?
I would like to practice programming something alongside.
Maybe you can give me some tips.
PS: I can't access the internet via the explorer. Can it be that it no longer works for security reasons?
No. I would upgrade to a maximum of win 7. For the Explorer probably missing the drivers.
If you put out a few more information (model, number, etc), then you can get something more specific.
I still have 4 of such lying around and the half has not even 64-bit.
One does not even have enough RAM for Win7.
Linux e.g. Mint will still be great
T60 is the name of the model
12 years is quite old.
I would swap for about 30 euro the hard drive against an SSD and then go to Linux (eg Mint or Ubuntu).

For Windows 10, there are no native drivers for audio and ATI…
