Does an external graphics card make sense for a laptop with 60Hz?

I have a laptop with 60hz and wanted to use it also for games. In games I have 60Fps with poor graphics settings and only 20FPS with good ones. Is an external graphics card worth it?

ko

Better save a bit and then assemble a PC yourself that is much cheaper than buying a finished one and graphics cards for laptops, I always tell my brother, are in my opinion the biggest waste of money

Gl

No, because the whole thing would cost almost as much as a new laptop. We're talking about a good 500 euro (dock + graphics card and possibly a power adapter, if there's none in the dock). You also need the right connections for this.

Ry

First of all, thank you. I have a PC, but unfortunately I'm not allowed to put it in my room because my parents think that I play too much otherwise. That is why it is below. I have a laptop and that would be perfect because it can go into my room. That's why I would like to do it that way. Are there any solutions?

Ry

Okay thank you very much

ko

In such a case I would maybe even just play on bad graphics. I used to do it 3 years ago because my parents said that I was too young to have my own PC, but maybe you can manage better OC times with your parents I made it back then and my parents are strict

Ry

Okay thank you. I've already tried all of this. You would allow me, but the Peoblem is that I've been permanently tired for almost 2-3 years, so I'm never completely there, I know what I'm doing, but rather in the subconscious. And I always have a tingling sensation in my body (very unpleasant) and therefore you think that this should be treated first, then he can go to my room.

Gl

In your case, streaming, such as PSNow, might be a good solution. I would keep my hands off Stadia, as it is still immature and quite expensive. However, good management is required here.

ko

Haha Stadia is rubbish too

ko

I would say that the lack of sleep or social pressure (from school, housework, etc.) is because you are definitely younger than me and still awake ^^ and I don't think that something like this is good in the long term at your age. I recommend you sleep at least 8 hours. That with your tingling in the body is completely normal, my brother has too.

Ry

But this is not just a tingling sensation, it can hardly be endured. I would like to lie down on the floor and just inhale. That with sleep, I usually sleep 8h minimum, but this didn't help.

Ba

Forget all your plans with an external graphics card on a laptop, 144Hz monitor on a laptop and co, that's all nonsense.

Ry

OK.

ko

You may also have some chronic illness and you just don't know / think it. To be on the safe side, I would go to a doctor and ask him to do tests

Ry

The doctor said chronic fatigue is not. We were at 6-7 doctors, all of whom have no idea.

ko

Then I don't know what to do, be the first one where I can't get on with my psychological knowledge Congratulations 😂

Ry

Thanks, but unfortunately the congratulations don't help either…

ko

How old are you actually? Because maybe that will help

Ry

I'm 15

ko

Oh ok thought maybe you are 12 (nofront) but when you are 15 puberty can also play a role with your fatigue problems. At 12/13 I would have said it is clear because of the development phase and so with not being completely on the ball I also have my problems because I (self-diagnosed) have early stages of adhs and therefore can't concentrate on several things at the same time and sometimes just rigid in nothing. But unfortunately I can no longer help you there, you have to hope for others

Ry

Okay, thank you for the effort anyway.
