How do I get out of my laptop's boot menu?

Greet you,

I have a serious problem with my laptop. I have a laptop, Lenovo V110 brand, and today I accepted an update from Lenovo that apparently backfired. I installed everything normally and followed the instructions normally. At the end a window appeared with the label Boot Menu and the following points:

1. ATA HDD: WDC WD5000LPCX-24VHAT0

2. ATAPI CD: PLDS DVD-RW DA8AESH

3. PCI LAN: EFI Network (IPv4)

4. PCI LAN: EFI Network (IPv6)

All well and good, but I can only steer up and down with the arrow keys as well as Enter and Esc. The Enter stands for Select and Esc for Exit. But every time I press Enter or Esc the window disappears and reappears after 2sec. If I press the Esc key a little longer, a next window appears, but it appears unnecessary because it only shows information from Phoenix SecureCore Technology.

I just don't know what to do. I've already tried everything like B. That I pressed all the F-keys and that I also pressed Ctrl + Alt + Delete because it disappears as usual and reappears after 2sec.

So please help me guys!

Your laptop doesn't seem to start from your hard drive anymore.

Disconnect all external devices (USB sticks, SD cards, …) from your laptop.

Then navigate to 1. ATA HDD… And then press Enter.
Does your laptop start normally?

What operating system do you have?

If it still does not work, please contact me again.

Thanks for your answer, the following I have already removed all external devices and USB. I have already confirmed on every point with Enter but nevertheless the window disappears and comes back after 2sec. Operating system I have Windows 10 Pro

OK thanks.

What kind of update was that exactly?

There's also built-in diagnostics from Lenovo. Unfortunately, the F keys to get there differ from device to device. Therefore, to start this you have to try every one of them:

Turn off the laptop and then turn it on again. Immediately after pressing the power button, quickly press one of the F buttons and see if it leads to the diagnostic tool.

It's probably one of these F keys: F12 / F11 / F10 / F9 / F2 / F1

Unfortunately I didn't read exactly what the update was or I don't know if it was one at all.

I tried that with the F keys and have to say that nothing happened, after switching on the laptop the window with the boot menu appears directly

Do you see the Lenovo logo after switching on or something or did you see it earlier?

Po

No it comes right after switching on this window

Do you happen to have a Windows 10 DVD or USB stick with it?

If not maybe some other DVD / USB stick with a bootable system (Linux (Ubuntu, …), backup software, …)?

Po

Do you mean it would work because my Windows was not activated before it happened

So I don't think it matters whether Windows was activated or not.

But maybe something was wrong with the Windows installation due to the update.

If you had a Windows 10 DVD / USB stick, you could test whether the error is probably due to the installation or if there's any error in the BIOS.

Po

Thanks a lot for that
