Connect DVD player to iPad?

I have a question. Some time ago I bought a DVD player (without a screen) because I want to watch a few series. The device is called EXTERNAL USB DVD DRIVE and is from HP. In the shop I was explained how to connect the device to my Lenovo laptop. However, I can't always use the laptop because I share it with my mother. I still have an iPad that is only mine. Can I connect my iPad 2019 to the DVD player? Or is it not possible because of the technology? And if so, how? Do you need an adapter or something like that?
