Connected my monitor to my laptop with HDMI, the monitor can operate at 144Hz, but I can't set 144Hz in the Nvidia control panel, why not?
I can set a maximum of 59 Hz.
Because you have to make a manual setting
How do I do that?
Have you also selected the correct resolution in the system control?
Try right-clicking on the desktop → display settings → advanced display settings → adapter properties
Can the monitor even use 144Hz via HDMI or can it only do that via Displayport?
I tried that, I can only set 50, 59 and 60 Hz: /
Look whether the power cable is plugged in, many laptops go into "energy saving mode" when the power is not on.
You can also change that so that it always gives full power.
It's always plugged in: /
That is something below something with "user-defined resolution"
