How does synchronization work on media players?
There you don't have the sound waves on top of each other on the laptop screen like I do at the moment, so you can superimpose the beats perfectly. Only the sound wave from the track that the media player is playing is displayed on the screen.
Players have a sync button that adapts the tracks perfectly to the master track and so in most cases run at its tempo. Very rarely do they jump out of line.
Well, sync button is very unpopular, I've heard on my controller that I don't use it at all because in retrospect it actually only causes me problems. Do it the classic way with pitch fader and jog wheel
Media players such as the Pioneer CDJ or XDJ series also use software similar to your DJ software on a laptop. For syncing to work, these titles must also be analyzed in advance. Pioneer uses Rekordbox for this, DENON uses its "Prime" software. Without this analysis, the player would not know where the grid and downbeat are. The waveform display is also one of the analysis results.
If grid and downbeat are set correctly, automatic syncing does not cause any problems in 99.9% of cases.
