Make music (melody, instruments, etc) with a simple program?
I would like to create beats / melody in various instruments (only piano would be okay) on a laptop with a simple program. I would like to use these as background music for short stories / texts.
Does anyone have any idea which program I could use for this? I have a MacBook.

If you do not have Logic Pro X then I would recommend GarageBand
GarageBand I even did, I just did not know that you can use that for something like that. Does Logic Pro X cost anything?

How about fl studio, ableton, cubase, logic pro x, reaper, studio one, reason?
if you do not want to produce seriously, use garageband. With most free programs of the art, you are limited to presets or loops or samples, so you can't really make your own sounds yourself, but that does not seem to suggest that. But if you're planning on getting into music production, buy one of the ones already mentioned above.
in all mentioned progams are the smallest versions from about 100 euro. But can you download the demo version and try it out?
