Suitable laptop for engineering studies (2020)?

In a nutshell: budget of around 1000 euro.

I'm looking for a laptop that is suitable for engineering studies. Means more precisely that the laptop should be suitable for CAD applications and programming. The former in particular is likely to be decisive here.

I guess a Ryzen 5 should be in it, as well as 16GB of RAM. But how important is the graphics card?

It would also be an advantage if it were relatively light.

Maybe you have one in mind, like to report on your own experiences.

What kind of engineer?

This should be enough: https://hardwarerat.de/...s-10?c=118 if you want to use it on the go, there's nothing better.

Ma

Thank you

Kr

Wait, have to research

Sa

But how important is the graphics card?

Depends on the programs used and the complexity of the models created

In CAD applications, the focus is on the processor - the graphics card does not have to be high-end. But this only applies if you get the program from the university (which will be the case) from a company where you pay the license, it may be that you don't get any support without a suitable graphics card. Common CAD programs SolidWorks, Catia, Visi also run with low graphics card performance.

Ma

Thank you very much.

That was the detailed version of my text ^^

If you think so😁
