Yesterday I connected my external hard drive to my mobile phone because there was something to format with and I thought that meant transferring the data from the hard drive to the mobile phone so I did that. I did not find anything.

Now I want to connect the hard drive to my laptop and there are no data on it.

What's so helpless now…

Request for urgent help!

As you probably noticed, formatting erased the data. Would try now if you can restore something with a recovery tool.

So. Connect the hard disk to the laptop. Download and install "Recuva" from the internet and see if you can save anything with it.

Ab

Play the free program RECUVA from the internet on the computer.
Then the external hard drive to the computer and search with RECUVA. Best depth scan.
It is essential to save the found and recoverable data on the computer or on a second external disk, as direct storage on the disk where the data found is not possible.
Good succeed…
And for the future:
Format = data will be deleted, or released for overwriting.

So if I connect the hard drive is there Local Disk

Ca

Correctly. And you can then select it with Recuva and it will look like, if you can save something.

Ta

Formatting deletes where the files are located on the disk. Supposedly, you can restore them, but I have not tested it because it was not necessary for me.

Le

I have downloaded Recuva but nothing could be found there's no other way?

Ca

Really not? Hmm. Then the things were probably well-formatted.
If they were just deleted, you would definitely have to find something else. This is unfortunately really stupid. You can't do anything anymore except maybe go over it with another tool. Was it very important data on the record?
