Microphone sounds bad (only on this PC)?

Ur

I got a new microphone and of course I tested it directly. Unfortunately, it sounds really bad, although it shouldn't be. I also played around with external programs like Voicemeter, unfortunately with no success. The microphone sounds very good on another PC / laptop, which is why the problem must be with my PC. However, I did not find anything and I was unable to repair it. I'm desperate, please help me D:

(Drivers are up to date)

What kind of microphone do you have? What do you mean by "sounds bad"? Is it rustling, is it humming, is it beeping? Do you receive Kazakh radio stations?

Ur

I have the Fifine K670. It rustles, it hums. Actually the whole package. It sounds like the microphone was 10-20 years ago

St

It sounds like the microphone was 10-20 years ago.

I regularly work with decades-old microphones without any problems. What is your problem?

Ur

I didn't mean it that way. I mean microphones that are known as "gamers" and hurt your ears because they are of poor quality. Of course there are also good old ones.

St

Times in the blue, because you don't get a specific error description from you:

You could try using the calculator on battery power if necessary; if it's a laptop. You can also try to disconnect all connected devices that are not absolutely necessary from the PC.

It can also help to disconnect all devices in the room including their power supplies from the power supply. Sometimes LED or energy-saving lamps also cause problems.

If necessary, just replace the PC power supply, get a board that does not cheat its electromagnetic compatibility due to jittering and throw any graphics cards out of the computer.

Ur

Thanks for the answer. Unfortunately, I don't know how to describe this in more detail. Nevertheless, I thank you for the answer. It is a PC, not a laptop. Only necessary things are connected. The graphics card works flawlessly, as does the power supply and the mainboard. I think it's more about certain attitudes. In summary, the problem is still there. I really don't know what that could be.

St

What kind of PC is it?

I bet with you that there's anything but a decent DC voltage coming from the USB socket. Dirt voltage from USB sockets is a major problem with USB microphones.

Ur

It is not a finished PC. It is a self-made one, but I got it built from the website where I ordered the individual parts (it means I didn't install anything wrong). Shouldn't there also be other problems then, does that mean the keyboard, mouse, etc? I also plugged it into various USB sockets.

St

Well, audio applications are critical when it comes to the quality of the power supply. Mice and keyboards tend not.

Ur

However, my headset also works. What could I do about it? Buying a new motherboard would result in buying a new PC

Ph

On all USB sockets? Already connected to two at the same time with y-cable. Otherwise I'm with Karl Klammer. A separate neat USB card does not fit in?

Ur

Tried on all USB sockets. Unfortunately I don't have a y-cable. I also tried a separate USB card

Ph

Then you probably don't need a USB micro on this computer. USB audio interface for 40 euro Behringer umc22 and as a micro an AKG p3 for 35 euro and it should work.

Ur

Why should I get a new microphone? The microphone view works and furthermore you wouldn't actually need an interface. It's only for talking to friends.

Ph

Your USB doesn't seem to want to communicate with this mic

Ur

And what can I do about it?

Ph

I only know how to install a separate USB card. Karl Klammer is absolutely right. I was only able to use my expensive focus interface when I got the idea to use a Y-cable. Drawn too much power and my USB was too weak.

Ur

How about if I buy an external sound card? Like this one, for example: https://www.amazon.de/...07JYNJLVR/

Ph

In my opinion USB works as a USB HUB. So looped through. In my opinion no separate USB but only the looped through signal from your computer. So no interface that provides a fresh USB and fresh sound chip. But I'm not a computer specialist. Ask that as a question. Then you come out at the computer specialists.

Just ask the people who screwed the computer together for you!

ja

Try it maybe with an adapter from USB to 3.5mm. Maybe it could work. Or completely uninstall and reinstall the sound driver once?

Ur

I would have to buy it to try it. I have already reinstalled drivers. I just wonder if it would also work with an external sound card instead of buying an adapter (according to the motto: "If it does, then it's reasonable"; D)

ja

I'm pretty sure you didn't reinstall the drivers.

Ur

Yes, yes. I have.

ja

Certainly after I wrote it to you here.

Ur

https://emojipedia.org/face-with-tears-of-joy/ Yes, you caught me there

ja

Yes you see. If you don't notice the comments from the people here you don't need to ask a question here.

Ur

I perceive it very well, but in this case I knew that it has nothing to do with it, since it is a "plug and play" microphone, which means that it has to work without any driver problems

fr

I have the same problem. I've had my microphone for 2 days, but I can't do it. I tried it on my brother's laptop and it works.

Ur

I'm glad that at least I'm not alone. I'm also desperate

Since I find too many comments confusing, here are a few comments:

There's no USB to jack adapter, and it can't work at all.

USB micro on sound card does not work because the micro built-in the sound card.

Maybe the USB chipset on the PC is incompatible with the mic? Try to find out which chipset is installed.
